Outdoor Track

As usual, track season was busy at our home. Anna had a full season at Dordt, both Seth and Lydia ran for CVCS, and Russ continued as head coach. The weather for the track season was pretty terrible--cold and windy most of the season. Thankfully, this improved for the district and state meets in Idaho.  Not sure Anna ever ran a meet in great weather in the Midwest.

So fun that Anna could be home to watch Seth and Lydia run at the district meet!

It was so cold, rainy, and windy most of the season that we were all caught off guard with the first sunny meet, all getting horribly sunburnt. Seth is showing me that he is ready for this track meet!

I do enjoy the scenery while sitting at (or driving to) track meets in Idaho!

They really noticed the elevation gain at the track meet in McCall (5000' vs 2700' in Boise) with the snow still on the infield.

Fun and unusual track spectators

Lydia ran the 100m, 200m, sprint medley relay, 4 x100, and 4 x 200 throughout the season. She also tried the 300m hurdles and did great.

Seth ran the 800m and occasionally anchored the distance medley relay (800m). Very few meets offered the 4 x 800m relay as it is not a state event at the 2A level. He had a great season, especially towards the end when the weather improved and he PR'd every meet.

Lydia qualified for state in the open 100m, the sprint medley, and the 4x100 and 4x200.  She placed in all the events so had a great year. She is looking forward to continuing running with her sister at Dordt in the fall.
