Fall Dordt Trip

After Russ and I arrived home from our tri-state weekend on a Monday, he quickly repacked to fly to Iowa on Tuesday for his first Dordt Board of Trustees meeting.  Lydia traveled with him to see her brothers (and grandpa and grandma and cousins) and to enjoy all the Dordt Defender Days activities, including Nicolas' orchestra concert.  The weekend turned super cold with snow and wind.  Lydia got so cold she vowed she would never go to a cross-country meet again (she will).  When Russ' meetings were over on Friday, they were even able to make a quick trip to Glidden to see Grandpa and Grandma Herman.

Caleb picked them up from their late-night flight into Sioux Falls.  Grandma even stayed up to greet them!

Surprising cousin Emily when she came home from cross-country practice

Watching cousin Miah and Willow play high school volleyball.

While Russ and Lydia were gone, Seth, Anna, and I held down the fort with school, organ and piano lessons, and Bible studies.  We watched a Nampa Christian/Cole Valley Christian volleyball match on that Thursday night since so many of our youth group girls play.  Anna didn't have school on Friday so we visited a widow in a senior living center and played piano duets for her and anyone who happened to be walking by.  After a quick bite to eat at Chick-fil-A, we spent a couple hours browsing the antiques at Antique World.  We killed some time at the library branch close to the antique place before meeting friends at the dollar theater to watch Aladdin.   Anna and Seth went to the homecoming game Saturday night while I hung out at home so I could pick up the Iowa travelers from the airport.

A few days after we visited the antique shop, I found these pictures on my phone.  I knew he borrowed my phone while in the store, but I had no idea...
