Today we slept in a bit and had a big breakfast before heading out to the park-and-ride to catch the shuttle to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
We stopped first at Lake Louise. After dodging people to take a quick picture in front of the lake, we hiked to Fairview viewpoint to get away from the crowds. We ended up on an ungroomed trail which took us to a rocky avalanche area high above the lake where we ate our picnic lunch with great views!
From Lake Louise, we took the shuttle to Moraine Lake. We walked along the lake to the river inlet and found a few places along the lake away from people to just enjoy the view, the pine-scented air, and the beautiful sunny day. Can you tell from all the pictures that we just wanted to capture the color of this lake?
