After we returned home from Big Sand, it was time to visit some of Russ' family. We drove down to Glidden to see Wayne and Carol, and Philip and Pam and family drove up to the farm from Des Moines to see us for a few hours.

We drove back to Sioux Center that evening, packed everything up, and drove to Reliance, SD the next day to see Keith and Beth and Nathan and Tisha's families. When we left for Idaho the following morning, we left Nicolas in South Dakota as he was starting football at Dordt. It didn't make sense to drive him back to Boise only to fly him back to Iowa in a week. My dad picked him up in Beresford, and he stayed at Grandpa and Grandma's until he could move into the dorm for football. The rest of us drove home via Montana (a beautiful route!) and arrived home almost exactly three weeks to the day from when we left.
