The new year began with a flight back to Idaho from Iowa, this time with Anna and Joshua. Lydia stayed in Iowa to join the Dordt University orchestra on tour to various venues in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. Anna spent about a week in Idaho before returning to Dordt to start the second semester.
Once the second semester started, the girls ran in indoor track meets every weekend. Hope I can get more pictures of Lydia in the outdoor season.
After two and a half years of nerve pain including two six-week stints with physical therapy, chiropractic visits, and an unsuccessful cortisone shot, I had surgery to remove bone spurs impinging nerves in my cervical spine. I had an amazing caretaker who kept everything together at home, helped me with my self-care, and even made a spreadsheet of all my medications to make sure I didn't get behind on pain. His tender care made me fall in love with him all over again.💕
My swollen, bruised neck after surgery. |
This neck brace was so helpful the first week after surgery. |
Looking much better the third-week post-op. |
