Russ celebrated his 50th birthday on January 2nd! Friends from church surprised him with a little party later that week. They all dressed like elderly people (so Russ wouldn't feel bad being so old) and took us to an escape room in downtown Nampa. After crushing the escape room in 30 minutes or so, we just enjoyed a time of food and fellowship.

This is the picture they used for cupcake toppers--high school junior year. |
The youth group also had its annual fundraising pancake breakfast in January. After breakfast and cleanup, several people stuck around to play games to help Russ celebrate his birthday.

Later in the month, I asked Russ if he could take Wednesday off instead of his normal Monday so we could drive to McCall to see the snow sculptures for the Winter Carnival. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny (but cold) day.

The deer were just wandering around town. I was surprised they came this close. |
This girl turned 20 on January 31st. Anna is blessed to attend school near Grandma B. because she always makes her favorite pistachio dessert for her birthday!
We rounded out our January activities with a church baby shower, a "Favorite Things" party, high school basketball games, indoor track (Anna), and snow skiing (Seth). Now we are looking forward to the outdoor track season. Practice for Russ, Lydia, and Seth begins February 28th!
