We were only home from our vacation about a week and a half before Russ, Anna, Lydia, and I along with twelve other youth group members and sponsors boarded a plane for Columbus, Ohio for the annual Reformed Youth Services Convention. We were not planning to take our youth group this year because of the expense, but Russ was asked to be a workshop speaker so we gave the kids the option to attend if they paid their own airfare (the church would pay the registration fees).
The theme for the week was "Total Life Insurance." The main speakers spoke of the cost of this life insurance (it cost us nothing, and Christ everything), how to invest in this life insurance (Scripture reading, prayer, investing in the church, evangelism, etc), the benefits of this life insurance (blessings of obedience now as well as future benefits), and last, 'Have you closed the deal on this life insurance?' The workshop sessions were on various topics. The topic Russ was given was "Are Everyone's Parents as Clueless as Mine?" You can listen to any of these on the RYS website.

The kids had a choice this year for their day away; they could go to King's Island amusement park or they could visit the National Air Force Museum. Russ and I went with the NAFM kids and absolutely loved this museum!
Our blankets at Cedarville University were like burlap sacks--almost identical to this bed sheet made of paper used by POWs in WW 1.๐ |
This Wright brothers mosaic was made with the tiles shown below. |
Guess where the RYS Convention will be next year?!?
