High School Track Season 2017

Who knew she would enjoy track so much?

Nothing annoys this coach more than a poorly raked long jump pit.  Any chance he gets he volunteers to rake it.

After jumping in the 17' most of the year, he finally found his rhythm and began jumping in the 19' consistently.  We teased him it was because a freshman girl started jumping 17'.  She actually won state with a jump of 18' 1".

I just love the "rural Idaho" of this picture.

The three of us hung out at lots of track meets this spring!

Some of our beautiful (although cold) track nights.

District Track Meet

Sate qualifiers from the district meet were first place relays and those who placed first through fourth in the individual events.  Relays and individuals who did not qualify by place could also qualify by time.

Nicolas needed someone to hold his blocks.  Instead of grabbing a teammate he pointed to Caleb who was sitting near the finish line.  I thought it was pretty sweet.

4x200 relay second at districts, qualified for state by time and then finished second at state!

4x100, 4x200, and medley all won at districts; 4x400 placed second, but qualified for state by time.

Biggest surprise of the district meet...Anna placed 4th in the open 200m qualifying for state!  Look at that smile!

State Track

Getting ready to run the open 200m prelims.  Anna didn't qualify for finals, but it was a great experience.

Distance Medley

Cooling down

Fourth place finish in the medley.

Girls 4x200.  Anna ran the third leg so she helped hold the blocks for Sarah who was our starting leg.

Second place finish!

With the Nampa Christian girls who finished third.  The NC girls beat them at districts so they were happy to just nudge them out at state:)

With Coach Herman

Boys 4x200

Relaxed state champions!

4x100

2nd place finish

The boys also placed 6th in the 4x400.  I didn't get any pictures because the weather changed and it got cold and windy and I just didn't feel like getting my camera out.
