Back Home Again!

We are so thankful to be safely back home in Michigan after two weeks of visiting family over the holidays. (I will post some pictures of our visit in future posts.)  Unfortunately, we made a mistake yesterday (New Years Day) which caused a little travel anxiety.  Our mistake?  Not checking the weather before leaving the Chicago area yesterday afternoon.  Evidently a winter storm warning was in effect until 7 am this morning (and has now been extended until 4 pm) all along the Lake area from Grand Haven down to Kalamazoo.  And we drove right into it.   Visibility was poor, winds were high, and the interstate was completely snow and ice covered.  Great combination.

Now that it is all behind us, the kids are out helping Russ clean the driveway and sidewalks and just enjoying the snow!
